RO System Water Treatment Plant

What is Reverse Osmosis (RO)?

Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a pressure-driven membrane process used for water purification where a consistent water quality is required. Many modern industrial processes rely on consistent and reliable RO water production. RO is used to separate ions, unwanted molecules and larger particles that are present in the untreated supply water. Many industries such as Print, Glass, Cosmetics, Electronics, Pharma, Food and Beverage rely on RO units in their processes.

Reverse Osmosis systems are a highly efficient, cost-effective way of improving water quality. They work by using a pump to push feed water through a semi-permeable membrane, then by applying back pressure, the water molecules are forced through the membrane leaving almost all (95% to 99%) of dissolved salts, molecules and particles on the concentrate side of the RO membranes.

Reverse Osmosis water systems are critical investments, working hard on essential water filtration and often running 24-hours a day.

Why is RO necessary? Non-RO filtration systems are designed to remove particles, chlorine, and dissolved organics (fertilisers, pesticides, and organics of animal or vegetable origin). They are not, however, capable of re-moving many dissolved contaminants including calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium salts. This is where RO is necessary.

RO systems remove all the above and are capable of creating desalinated water, and of specifically rejecting viruses, bacteria, sugars, proteins, particles, dyes, heavy metals, dissolved organics and other contaminants that are dissolved in water.

RO System Water Treatment Plant: RO pays for itself

Reverse Osmosis pays for itself by protecting the equipment that it supplies with high-quality water. By preventing the formation of scale deposits on equipment, the function and energy efficiency of water using equipment is maximized. For example, mineral deposits (scale) tend to create a thermal barrier that coats heating elements of machines that produce hot water, thus extending heating time increasing energy consumption.

Beyond scale formation, salts (dissolved minerals) can impact the taste of brewed and other beverages. One example is by removing these contaminants, RO water allows the full essence of espresso, coffee, and/or tea to come through while brewing.

Less equipment downtime and reduced utility costs. Plus, the continuous equipment protection that is afforded by Reverse Osmosis ensures the fewest possible service calls for equipment.

Note that reverse osmosis produces wastewater unlike other water filtration processes, and this treated water becomes unsuitable as drinking water, due to the high content of total dissolved solids (TDS), and is not recommending for washing or bathing etc.

RGP RO Systems

RGP RO systems have production rates from 156lph to 1,260lph (dependant on feedwater temperature). They are 100% integrity tested with powder-coated aluminium frame for effective corrosion and rust resistance and have compact space-saving designs with low operation costs. Our RO systems are easily accessible for maintenance, system servicing and monitoring performance. They arrive pre-plumbed, wired and assembled for ease of use, and of course, are CE compliant systems.

RGP RO systems are well made, reliable units suitable for commercial/industrial applications. We have over twenty years’ experience supplying and maintaining systems in many industries including Printers, Breweries, Distillers, Glass, Cosmetics, Manufacturing and more.
